Royal Tyrrell Museum, July 07, 2022 inside we go

On Tuesday we explored the outdoor grounds, today in we go! We wanted to do just one museum and many have said the Royal Tyrrell is the one to visit.

I do not have words for each photo so here it comes! A bombardment of photos

Such an interesting museum. Lots of reading, not so much walking so we leave and go to a trail. North Drumheller trail, we have to walk 1/2h one way to obtain our 10k steps.

1/2 way is our favourite part as that’s when we get our rewards!

Royal Tyrrell Museum, Drumheller, July 05, 2022

We are off to see the dinosaurs!

We are going to walk the trail but first the lookout

The sites…

My new passion! Cacti!

Up close and personal!

Check out the wine sign in the background. Lunch at Vintage Taphouse. Allan’s smile says “Rickard’s Red on Tap”

Back at the campsite, this is kind of redneck mobile firepit

Fire time!

Then this rolls in

And then there was this.. Now it’s raining, no more fires today. Watching 911, “What’s your emergency?”

Drumheller, July 3 & 4, 2022

Travel day from Gas City RV, Medicine Hat to Horseshoe Canyon Campsite, Drumheller.

Checking in, they have a new section with 50amp but no trees. We’ll take it…

Bonus, we or at I didn’t realize. Across the street is Horseshoe Canyon

Davey is smoking!

July 4th – raining raining raining… Let’s make the best of it

Beautiful countryside

The tallest dinosaur, looks like dinky cars in front of it

Had many recommendations to go to Last Chance Saloon so we head there on this rainy day. Established in 1913, it’s really old, this is where the miners came for a shot.

Entry door is a flash back to the past

Cool place but no room for us. They have several large groups coming in. We crossed 9 bridges to get here, oh well at least we got to see it.

Can’t get a beer at the Last Chance Saloon, we bounce back quick and head to the Valley Brewery

Hoping for a no rain Tuesday!

Hike @ Gas City June 30, 2022

We started today at Costco where we got a great deal on fuel, 1.73/litre. Wish Bob was emptier

We’ve been admiring the rolling hills and dreading the day we decide to walk them. Still aren’t fans of ups and there are many.

We walk around the park and discover we need more steps to reach our 10k daily. Turns out today is, therefore the dreaded day.

We did not know there were cacti anywhere in Canada, but here they are.

Twisty, turny, beautiful countryside

We made it to the top to see the shed. This is as close as we could get. The bitch of it is, this wasn’t a planned walk so no “rewards” for us 🙁

This is the view of the shed from Bailey. Follow the yellow arrows. Was quite a hike!

Capped off the evening with, of course, a fire

Produce Day, Redcliff AB June 27, 2022

Never have we ever seen something like this before

   Morning adventure

Mr. Cucumber here we are!

The sales are on an honour basis.  You select your goodies and pay in the locked box.  We scrambled to make the correct change, they take cash only.  We don’t carry much cash, luckily, we do have a change wallet in Bob that came to the rescue.

Our haul!!  All for $8.50 🙂Tip! (just learned tip):  To ripen tomatoes place in a warm spot in a paper bag.  Worked!!

Afternoon adventure

We each select our flight beers!

We liked all but one of the beers, Allan’s favourite remains the red.  This one named     Midday Mariachi

End the day with a blazing fire
