The not so good: The mobile guys came back = another 2-1/2h total 5h into this repair and our awnings and captain chairs are still not working. They spend time in their vehicle, see them on their cell, say they are waiting for Winnebago to offer more assistance. Will they even try to come back?????
The good: We found a spot for the next 3 months! A great rate for newcomers 🙂 We don’t usually luck out we did with Sun Vista RV Resort So much to do here if you wish to! And we are permitted to grill on Joey again 🙂
Back at Bailey, it is remove and clean the window screens. We are pretty proud of the job we did 🙂
DAD (Dave’s Auto Detailing) is coming tomorrow for the exterior of both Bailey and Bob. Finally, hopefully getting rid of all the bugs!
Allan outdid himself making dinner, chicken parmesan with tomato sauce for me NAKED for him! He loves naked!!
Nov 04th – Exciting day, we have mobile RV service guys coming to repair our awnings that won’t go out, and our captain chairs that won’t swivel,
Pirate RV is scheduled to arrive between 10&11. They arrive at 1015, great start! Love the little flag on their antenna. Look at the top left corner, the arrows show the spot
There are 2 guys, both electricians before moving to Arizona from Washington to start their mobile RV business.
After 2-1/2h they admitted defeat and put the wiring back. Not sure how anyone knows what to do with all these wires!
These were also the most honest techs, he said he’s not charging us as he couldn’t fix it. Wow. They said they’d go back, do research and reach out to other techs they know. They would call us back! We do not expect to hear from them again.
It’s too hot to sit in the sun without awnings, we want them repaired. What’s our next plan???
Next up, we are checking out the 2 casinos as we thought it would be fun to “boondock” there for 2 nights. Paradise Casino, not only are the roads in bumpy but the area to park the RV is so unlevel. These 2 were the only ones here.
Off to Quechan, this one was worse. We’re just not cut out to “boondock”
Should have stayed in bed today!
Nov 05th: Today is Donny’s birthday! We have a lunch date to celebrate with Don, Debbie, and their friends, Brent & Diana.
Sorry Yuma! 🙁 We seem to bring un-seasonal weather where ever we go. The normal… “The windier part of the year lasts for 6.1 months, from December 17 to June 21, with average wind speeds of more than 7.1 miles per hour.”
Note: All today’s photos are clickable to make them larger in a new window. PM me which format you enjoy more.
Today’s wind gusts up to 31 mph, non-gusts 19mph. Crazy winds, blowing dust.
It was a nice, Allan deemed, “stress free drive”, even with the obligatory wait, wait, wait for the pilot vehicle to take our side down the single lane due to construction 🙂
We are driving through Quartzsite. Lots of folks boondock here but it’s famous as the “Rock Capitol of the World.” An ideal destination for rock-hounds and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Trade, buy, or simply view minerals from all over the world, Quartzsite is a perfect winter destination as the year-round warm weather, monuments, and hiking spots brings together many attractions that Arizona is famous for—even if you’re not into rocks. What’s that in Allan’s hand??
Yuma! The hot season lasts for 3.7 months, from June 1 to September 23, with an average daily high temperature above 99°F. The hottest month of the year in Yuma is July, with an average high of 107°F and low of 83°F.
The cool season lasts for 3.0 months, from November 21 to February 21, with an average daily high temperature below 76°F. The coldest month of the year in Yuma is December, with an average low of 49°F and high of 69°F
Here we are!
Whoops, did a big mistake!! Yuma by-law does not allow charcoal grills!! Having been owners for almost a lifetime we continually forget to check the rules. This may have taught us. Thankfully we broke down and bought a 5qt air fryer from the Target in Yakima. We just couldn’t resist as on line it was $40, while instore $140. What a deal!
Allan was in London in 1972, he missed seeing the bridge there
Why is the London Bridge here? Here’s the interesting story
Locks, locks, locks!! Lover’s Locks: Lovers buy a lock, write their names on it, throw the key in the channel. This means, we will stay together forever!
John our rep at Velocity said we’d be good to go about 11. We walked the strip looking for breakfast but there were huge lineups. What does Casino Royal offer for breakfast? Subway, they do have a breakfast sub but we opted for a meatball sub that was good. We each doubled our $20 & cashed out. Walk back to get Bob, arrive at Velocity.
1108a: Renaldo, our tech is still at it
1242p: We’re so excited, Bailey is on the move. Nope, not done yet. Now waiting for Quality Control to do a road test
126p: Still waiting for the road test
149p: Back from the test drive. Bailey passed!! 🙂
151p: While waiting & waiting we went into their store and found a spring clip we’ve been looking for to replace ours that broke. Found it here for a mere 2.09, we bought an extra. Allan has it installed 🙂 John is at lunch so Allan hooks Bob up while we are waiting for him to return
Today’s delay was the engine error OC55, we’ve been getting. Turns out it’s the engine speed sensor. That replacement caused today’s delay.
243p: On the road again, finally. It’s been a long, stressful but fun two days
259p: We feel their pain! They are on a busy highway and have a safety vehicle. We only had a Sherriff drive by to ensure we were OK. My bet..they will not be waiting 7 hours for a tow
So nice to be on our way…
327p: Here we our, our home State for a few months. Maybe…
656a: On our way to Velocity Truck Center to see how Bailey is doing
Her bum is still open, likely not a good sign
Pop inside for this view
Back in the parking garage cool, empty spots lights show as green, parked as red
Off to dinner
Dinner done we head to our favourite casino, Casino Royale (just learned it is a Best Western, never stayed here just played). Last time we were here in 2019 we won $500. Please don’t let us down
Yahoo! Still our favourite casino!! Helps offset our hotel bills. Sadly the resort doesn’t offer a credit for our 2 no-show nights.
